School Uniform
At Northgate we take pride in our school uniform and ask all parents and carers to support us in maintaining high standards.
All items must be clearly marked with the student's name.
- Northgate embroidered sweatshirt or jumper. No hoodies/zoodies allowed.
- Blue short sleeve shirt/blouse.
- Plain black straight-legged full length trousers (no denim, patterned material, excessive flares, tight-fitting ‘skinny’ trousers, hipsters, embellished or three-quarter length).
Shoes must be:
- Low-heeled and black.
- Free from decoration, coloured trims or logos.
- Made of leather or faux leather.
- White, navy, black or grey socks.
- Plain black or navy head covering.
- Belts/hairbands black or navy.
- Subtle makeup.
- No fake nails/nail polish.
- Hair natural colour with no extreme styles.
- 1 single nose stud (Year 9-11).
- 1 x pair ear studs.
- No other visible jewellery.
PE kit
Students should come to school wearing their PE kit on the days that they have PE.
- Northgate polo shirt.
- Northgate shorts or sport shorts/skorts blue or black.
- Northgate sweatshirt, rugby shirt or microfleece in cold weather.
- White sport socks.
- Sensible multi-sports trainers.
- Plain black/navy tracksuit bottoms or Northgate tracksuit bottoms.
- Football boots.
- Shin pads.
- Plain navy or black football socks.
Boys:
- Can wear plain black/navy leggings under shorts.
Girls:
- Can wear plain black or navy sports leggings.
All Northgate branded items are available for purchase either in store or online from Coes and PMG Schoolwear.
Other items:
Dance Kit (GCSE Dance)
Students should come to school wearing their dance kit on the days that they have dance lessons.
- Practical dance kit which should include black sports leggings, with a skort/shorts worn over the top, and the Northgate embroidered navy/cyclone blue polo shirt (AKOA branded).
- School PE kit is perfectly acceptable, but legs are to be covered to avoid friction burns.
Second-hand Uniform
If you would like to obtain items of second-hand uniform:
- The school has a range of second-hand items available.
- If you would like to ask about this, please call or email the school with details of which items and sizes you need, and we will let you know if we have these available.
If you would like to donate second-hand uniform or any items of school equipment that are no longer needed and are in good condition, please ask your child to drop items at the main school reception.
